Continuing my neighborhood focus I go up Sixth Avenue a bit to another local favorite, Bar Six.  (For tourists: Sixth Avenue is Avenue Of The Americas). Usually packed with locals and tourists, Bar Six is always a welcoming place. Looks like a French Bistro with a Moroccan twist.  Come to Greenwich Village and eat your way through the neighborhood. I’m extremely happy to be back in New York.

The Bar Six Experience: Sunday, July 1, 2012 about 8:15 P.M . I walk into Bar Six, sit down at the bar and have a glass of wine. Not feeling too hungry I order two appetizers, the Moroccan Spiced Meatballs and a Salad. I usually eat all the food I order and always order too much because it all looks good. My life has become an endless cycle of eating then furious exercise. I get 8 big meatballs and a great salad, more than enough food and quite good, thoroughly enjoyed it. I think I am on to something with the two appetizer plan. Lots more to try on the menu and will be back soon.

New bartender Phoebe is very friendly and doing a great job.  Other patrons are terrific as well.  Bar Six is a good place to hang at the bar and have a nice meal.

The bar has about 8 seats on long side and 6 seat on short.  The bar faces the wall but sitting on the longer side you can see quite a bit of the restaurant with a view extending through the large open floor to ceiling doors out to all the happenings on Sixth Avenue. No televisions, no problem.

Business Travelers: Not many business people on this Sunday night. I’ve seen more during the week. Definitely welcoming if you are traveling on business or want to go out with coworkers or clients. Another great place to watch Greenwich Village go by but this time on busy Sixth Avenue. Stop by Murray’s Bagels (SOUND ALERT – ENOUGH WITH THE AUTOPLAY PEOPLE!) next door for some of the best bagels Manhattan has to offer (get the Norwegian  Salmon). Full of local professionals after work and for dinner during the week. Nice place to watch Greenwich Village go by, especially for those visiting NYC.  Women traveling on business will feel welcome and comfortable in Bar Six.  Check out some of the most beautiful blocks in Manhattan, West 10th, 11th and 12th between 6th and 5th Avenues.
